Cancellation Policies

For a refund, credit toward a future class/event, or free rescheduling, please notify us of your cancellation 7 days or more before your scheduled class/activity. Within 7 days of your class there is no refund, however, you can transfer your registration to another person. In this event, please text or email Clay Awhile with the receiving person's name, email address, and phone number. Note: This policy is in place to protect our instructors who are booked specifically for these events, and to be fair to other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available.

DISCLAIMER: Things happen in a kiln that cannot be controlled. No guarantee is offered, explicit or implied, regarding the quality or serviceability of fired work. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the best possible outcome for every firing. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you will not hold the studio, its staff, or any other person associated with the studio responsible for work that is damaged or defective in any way while in the studio at any stage of the process. While working with clay is relatively safe, there are hazards and risks. These risks include the possibility of injuries or illness related to the use of the studio, materials, or equipment. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you have been informed of the risks and have signed the Clay Awhile waiver.

One Day Classes

One-time classes such as Give it a Whirl Wheel class, one evening hand building classes, and Private Lessons have a four person minimum attendance requirement to run, which unless waived by the instructor may result in a cancellation of the class and participants who signed up for the class. Class may be rescheduled once if 48 hours notice is given. Minimum age for Kids Wheel class is 9 years old. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for Adult Wheel classes is 18 years old.

4-8 Week Classes, Events, and Workshops

Cancellations are permitted up to 7 days prior to the workshop. For cancellations made 7 days prior to the class/workshop/event date, Clay Awhile will issue a credit in the form of a gift certificate equivalent to the amount paid for the workshop. This credit certificate may be applied toward any future Clay Awhile classes or events within a year of the cancellation. No refunds or credits will be given within 7 days of the workshop. If one class is missed out of a 4-8 week class, a participant MAY be allowed to drop in on a future class if there are openings in a future class that cover the missed lesson.

Clay Awhile reserves the right to cancel or merge any of our workshops based on enrollment. Clay Awhile will notify any participants affected by these changes, and those participants will be notified, and will have the right to cancel their registration for a full refund, or receive a credit for another class or event.

Special Events/Birthday Parties, etc.

If you have booked a private party with our Special Events Coordinator and need to cancel your event you must contact us to discuss the cancellation. The event can be fully refunded up to 7 business days prior to your event. If the event is cancelled within 7 business days, 10% of the event cost will be reserved as a cancellation fee, and 90% of the booking rate will be refunded.

In the event of inclement weather or other emergencies that cause Clay Awhile to close the studio, the primary contact person will be made aware and arrangements will be made to reschedule. If the studio is open, the event will go on as planned.
