THE PROCESS
Drying (3-5 weeks) - Clay must dry slowly, especially thicker pieces, so they don’t crack or become damaged during firing.
First firing (bisque firing) - each kiln firing takes about 36 hours. We currently fire our kiln each Tuesday.
Glazing - your instructor carefully glazes your work.
Final firing (glaze firing) - your pieces are fired again to become durable, functional, and finished.
PICKUP
At the end of your class you can submit pictures of your work along with your contact information. When your items are ready for pick up you will receive a notification, along with followup reminders over the next few weeks after the initial ready for pickup message.. Pickup times are usually each Tuesday between 8a and 8p., or during other posted class times
Classes are usually offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday evenings from 7 to 9; Saturdays 10 AM to noon and 1 PM to 3 PM. Please visit our website for posted class times.
CLAY AWHILE IS CLOSED AFTER 6P EVERY THURSDAY for reserved private events, so pickups cannot occur during this time.
